Dildo Guide

dildo guide

We are not a big fan of the “how to” approach to sex; we like creative, smart and safe play that is led by feelings and, most importantly, about enjoying the whole journey of getting there.

However, if you have just bought a new dildo and are looking for a bit of inspiration on how to use it, we are here to suggest some of the most common ways to use it to stimulate your sweet spots.

Quick reminder of essentials to enjoy your play time:

set up the mood. Context is key when it comes to pleasure, so be sure you are in a comfortable, exciting or relaxing (whatever you want it to be) place. You can use anything you like to help set it up: music, light off, candles, porn, erotic books or incense
a little warm up is always a good thing before starting to use a toy on your vulva or anus
don’t forget lube (add link) is our friend! You can use it to enhance your sensations or to help your natural lubrication

If you enjoy deep penetration:

try to replicate that feeling with deep thrusting
you can also just insert the dildo for a steady and full-sensation whilst playing externally with you clitoris

Almost all dildos are good for this kind of stimulation, however we have some tips:
firm toys, such as a dildo made of glass, ceramic or stone are perfect to replicate the whole feeling and are easier to use when thrusting as they don’t bend
smooth dildos help you avoiding over stimulating your vagina walls, which may not be very pleasurable

If you want to hit the G Spot:

short and shallow penetration is key. The G Spot is located in the first part of the vagina (link glossary) so if you keep using in-out short penetrations, you’ll hit it.
sloped stimulation with a curved movement from the outside to your mons pubis will also deeply stimulate the G Spot
another good technique is to insert your dildo just a few inches and then turn it in circles

Dildos with curves, rounded head or texture are perfect for this type of stimulation.

If you want to go anal:

remember to use a dildo with a big enough base (more than 6 cm diameter) to avoid the risk of losing it during the play
lube is a must have in this case! Be sure to use a water-based lubricant so that it’s compatible with your dildo material
make sure you clean your dildo before using it again

Thrusting movements are usually best when it comes to anal, but be sure you go step by step!
For a steady feeling butt plugs (insert link) are also very good to play with.

No matter if you are playing solo or with a partner, choose a comfy position where you can relax and enjoy the journey!
You can lie on your back, face-down or sit with your legs up, it’s totally up to you.

Have fun trying these stimulation techniques, feel free to mix them up and find the best way to pleasure yourself!

Remember, you want to enjoy the whole experience, from the warm-up to the climax.

“I wish I knew all I’m discovering now about sexuality when I was 20”. I found myself hearing this too many times. When it comes to female sexuality, discovering our bodies, experiencing pleasure, understanding what we like and don't and put ourselves first, so far, taboos has prevailed. Time to change.
